• Arrival at Le Vedette with a Mexican themed aperitivo with bites and drinks and a casual dinnner prepared with recipes from Karla’s book.

  • Mexican breakfast at home with corn tortillas, fried beans and spicy salsas

    We visit the workshop of Guido Gobino, one of Italy’s most delicious chocolate producers for a behind the scenes tour and tasting.

    We return to Le Vedette for an afternoon workshop learning how to cook with chillies and make your own mole using ingredients from Mexico and Piedmont followed by lunch at with a Mexican wine pairing and masterclass by Michael.

  • Breakfast at home of chilaquiles and cafe de olla

    We then depart for Ivrea Farmers Market to buy fresh seasonal produce for lunch and to stop at Pasticceria Balla for a coffee.

    Return to Le Vedette for a leisurely garden lunch prepared by Karla followed by several hours of free time.

  • Leisurely breakfast at home, followed by a morning visit to Caretto Loris vineyard for a tasting of grapes typical of northern Piedmont. Loris also grows all seven varieties of local corn and is deeply passionate about them!

    After lunch we have a few hours rest.

    In the evening a Masterclass in the Art of Carne Asada and Barbacoa by Karla with a cocktail demo using Mexican chillies with Michael

Karla Zazueta

Karla Zazueta is a self-taught chef, Mexican cookery teacher and food writer.

She has been sharing her Mexican heritage, recipes and techniques through her cooking classes at her Mexican Food Memories Cooking School. She also hosts Mexican supper clubs every end of each month at her family home in North London.

Her recipes have been featured in The Guardian, BBC Food, NatGeo Food Magazine and other important publications. In 2024, Karla released her first cookbook, Norteña, where she shares the story of her family recipes and northern Mexico.

Meet your expert guides

Michael Zee

Michael is the creator of Instagram account @symmetrybreakfast. Over the last ten years has published cookbooks and travel guides that have become international bestsellers. His new book ZaoFan: Breakfast of China was released in 2024 and won Best Cookery Book of the Year at the 2025 Fortnum & Mason awards.

Before his life in social media, Michael worked in learning programmes at the Victoria & Albert Museum developing workshops, tours and public programming that engaged with over 100,000 visiting teachers and students every year. He has a Masters in Education, a PGCE in Secondary Teaching and a Bachelors in Photography

Michael and his husband Mark are the owners of Le Vedette.

Every guest enjoys the same immersive retreat experience. Pricing varies only by room category.

Bedroom One

Simple charm with a shared bathroom, double occupancy is €1800 per person. Further discount can be applied for four people sharing

Bedroom Two & Three

Our elegant ensuite bedrooms offer privacy and refined comfort.

Double occupancy of these rooms is €2000 per person or a single is €2700

Bedroom Four

Our grand vista room offers incredible sunrise views and a luxurious king sized bed with walk in closet and plenty of space.

Double occupancy of this rooms is €2200 per person or a single is €3000
